After a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Gisele Bündchen, 44, and boyfriend Joaquim Valente, 35, are expecting their first baby together, Bündchen’s third, on Monday, Oct. 28, fans were left wondering how she kept her pregnancy hidden for months.
Bündchen frequently shares her son Benjamin Rein, 14, and daughter Vivian Lake, 11 — who she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady — on her social media, but the model gave no impressions that she was expecting her third baby.
Earlier this month, the model shared an Instagram Reel promoting an herbal supplement brand, which was meticulously shot from the chest up.
Many expected the model, who served as a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1999 until 2006, to make her return at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show held on Oct. 15. However, Bündchen was notably not in attendance on the runway.
On Oct. 4, the soon-to-be mom of three shared a carousel full of snaps from her modeling campaign with Colcci Jeans. While her stomach was completely exposed as she posed in Brazil, it is unclear when these photos were taken.
“Rio de Janeiro is still beautiful! Always great to be back in this wonderful city. There is no better place to take pictures @colccioficial @colccijeansoficial 🇧🇷☀️,” she captioned the post.
On Oct. 3, the supermodel shared that her recent photoshoot look for Zara was inspired by Italian actress Monica Vitti — as she rocked a messy blonde bob reminiscent of the late star. In the pictures posted to her Instagram. Bündchen’s stomach is either hidden by a fur jacket and baggy trousers or completely cropped out.
“Was so fun to play Monica Vitti for the lens of my dear friend Steven Meisel for the special @stefanopilati collection for @zara 📸,” Bündchen wrote in the caption.
On Sept. 22, she shared an Instagram carousel captioned “Best of summer! ☀️ O melhor do verão!” which included a few full bikini shots from throughout the summer months.
Earlier that month, Bündchen posted a series of snaps from her Vogue Brasil photoshoot. Many of her looks impressively feature skin-tight clothing, snatching corsets and even mesh material across the stomach.
“Had fun shooting the new @voguebrasil with loved ones,” she shared in her caption.
The bikini pictures continued into July, when she shared a variety of snaps from her family trip to Bahia, Brazil on Instagram. The proud mom can be leaping across the beach in her cheetah-print bikini.
On Monday, Oct. 28, a source close to Bündchen confirmed the model’s pregnancy news, telling PEOPLE in a statement, “Gisele and Joaquim are happy for this new chapter in their life and they’re looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family.”
Bündchen has been dating the Jiu-Jitsu instructor since June 2023. Their baby will join Bündchen’s son Benjamin Rein, 14, and daughter Vivian Lake, 11, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady.
