When a family moves into their new house, they will leave behind everything they didn’t want to take with them. This family left a lot of trash on the curb, including an old mattress, some furniture, pillows, and a poor dog named Boo.
Of course, Boo didn’t know that his owners abandoned him, and he always hoped that his family would return. So, he crawled onto the bed with the familiar scents and waited patiently for them. Neighbors left food and water for him, but he refused to budge and to go anywhere until his family came back to him.
This heartbreaking moment naturally led to the neighbors growing concerned. A man posted a photo of Boo to a Facebook page for dogs and asked for the help of a local shelter, but no one came and took him.
Thankfully, Mike Diesel, founder of Detroit Youth and Dog Rescue, saw the post and decided to help Boo. He drove out to meet Boo and talk to mend the dog’s broken heart. When he felt Boo was comfortable enough with him, he picked the dog up, put him into the truck, and took him to the vet.
“He was just laying there, being his loyal self,” Diesel says. “Pillows were still on the mattress. Being the loyal dog he was supposed to be, he waited for his master to come back.”
Boo is getting the help he needs, and he is doing so well. Staff were impressed with how sweet Boo was despite everything he had been through. Finally, he found a new home, where his parents loved him so much and never abandoned him again.
