Marjorie Taylor Greene has expressed strong discontent with House Speaker Mike Johnson after he advanced legislation to prevent a government shutdown, calling him “a Speaker for the Democrats.”
Johnson’s decision to allow a vote on a spending bill to fund the government until December, despite it lacking provisions to tighten election security, has drawn the ire of Greene and other Trump allies. Donald Trump had urged House Republicans to reject any continuing resolution that did not include the Save Act, aimed at preventing illegal immigration from influencing elections, despite existing laws prohibiting such practices in federal elections.
In her remarks on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast, Greene stated, “Mike Johnson is not our Speaker,” emphasizing her belief that Republicans do not “deserve” to maintain control of the House. She echoed sentiments of anger and frustration, asserting, “I don’t think Republicans deserve to be re-elected to hold the majority.”
