She is my love!
It is common knowledge among Billie Eilish enthusiasts that during her youth, the renowned musician was an avid follower of Belieber, but she was also quite fond of Taylor Swift, although she was unaware of this at the time.
Billboard reports that during a recent episode of her Apple Music program, me & dad radio, in which her father, Patrick O’Connell, co-hosts, Taylor Swift, she revealed her Swiftie status. The pair curated an album of timeless favorites, which featured “Picture to Burn,” a track from Taylor’s debut album from 2006, the Spice Girls, and Britney Spears.
“I used to be quite fond of this song when I was about four years old, if not older.” “Probably around six,” Billie speculated. “It’s absurd. It feels very rural. Now that I’ve listened to it, I find myself thinking, “Wow, I had no idea how country this was.” However, at the time, I adored this song because I thought it was so terrible. I found it extremely mean and awesome. I simply adored it.”
However, until recently, Billie was unaware that one of her childhood favorites was performed by Taylor Swift: “I didn’t even realize it was Taylor Swift until this year,” she disclosed. She was also unclear regarding the song’s meaning. “I had no idea what the phrase ‘picture to burn’ entailed.” “The only instance of the word ‘burn’ that I was familiar with and assumed she meant was when one burns a CD.”
Taylor Swift’s “Picture to Burn” is an excellent example of one of those early story-songs, in which she vents her ire to an ex who has wronged her. “Taylor Swift had these wonderful crossover country-pop songs that had these great stories to tell,” according to Billie’s father. Taylor’s voice has a Southern tinge and a twangy chorus of fiddles and guitars, which are characteristics of country music. While these elements were prevalent in her earlier albums, they are conspicuously absent from her current mainstream sound.
Billie and Taylor have previously been romantically involved, and the two musicians’ mutual admiration is evident. During her Woman of the Year address at the Billboard Awards, Billie mentioned Taylor and expressed gratitude for her motivational remarks from a previous ceremony, stating that Taylor “took care of me.” In response, Taylor cited Billie as an exemplary female pop artist. Billie previously had no idea that one of her all-time favorite songs was composed by Taylor Swift; however, she now is. It would be fantastic to see the two collaborate on a rendition of the 2006 classic.
