Dog’s Heartbreaking Grief as She Struggles to Cope with the Loss of Her Beloved Best Friend.

January 27, 2024 by Pham Hien

Pebbles met her sister Ruby when she was just a young puppy after being adopted by her family. Unfortunately, Ruby passed away when she was just 4 years old, and since then, this canine has had to come to terms with the concept that her closest buddy will no longer be around.

Ruby first played the motherly role to Pebbles by giving her undivided care, and from that point on, a very deep emotional connection developed between the two.

Says Rob Gower

When they were together, trying to keep their lips open over one another’s noses was her favorite pastime.

Until Ruby was diagnosed with cancer and went away, Pebbles basically lived her whole life at her sister’s side.

This dog is unable to accept Ruby’s absence because she left the house. Pebbles has demonstrated a great deal of confusion.

“Pebbles frequently wanders throughout a room or corridor. Although they each had a bed in the living room, they opted to share one. Pebbles, however, won’t let a single paw touch the bed they shared or where she currently sleeps because of what occurred with Ruby.

The passing of Ruby’s ashes left Gower in a state of intense emotional shock because her death left the entire family in a tremendous deal of pain.

“I set Ruby on a table with a fresh tennis ball and her jewelry.”

When Gower sat next to Ruby’s cremated remains, Pebbles did something quite extraordinary. She approached, picked up the ball he had placed on the table, and began playing with it. After a short while, she returned, deposited the ball next to Ruby’s ashes, and then sat down. All Pebbles wanted was to play with her dearest pal once more.

Pebbles rolled over, laid down on the mat next to her old companion, and let out a huge sigh as she realized Ruby couldn’t play with her any more.
