Most individuals, without a doubt, can’t get enough of lovely fluffy creatures. You name it: cats, dogs, rabbits, or pandas. Isn’t it true that the smaller the better? In this situation, mother nature chose to play a joke on us and turned a typically enormous dog, a German Shepherd, into an adorable small puppy dog for the rest of his life. Regrettably, it had to come at a cost. But don’t worry, there’s a happy ending to this story!
Ranger is a 2-year-old purebred German Shepherd who, despite his age, will never stop looking like a puppy. This is due to Pituitary Dwarfism, a rare illness he suffers from. After contracting Giardia, a parasitic illness, he was diagnosed with dwarfism.
A 2-year-old German Shepherd has an unique ailment that forces him to remain a puppy for the rest of his life.
“When we first acquired Ranger from the breeder, he was smaller than any of his other littermates, but we believed it was because he had a parasite called Coccidia,” Ranger’s owner Shelby Mayo explained. We took him home in the weeks that followed, and he was parasite-free, but he eventually developed a parasite called Giardia. We also noticed that our adorable pet had a huge infection on his neck at the same time. We were gradually able to contain the illness, and a few months later, we were finally able to rid ourselves of Giardia.

After this sweet dog recovered from his illness, his owners recognized something was amiss since he wasn’t developing at the rate he was supposed to. Ranger’s unusual condition was discovered only after a trip to the veterinarian.
Despite the health concerns that arose as a result of his diagnosis
Despite the fact that his condition keeps him in this perpetually adorable state, being a tiny dog has certain drawbacks. He had health problems as a result, including losing hair and flaking skin. All of this is caused by Hypothyroidism, an endocrine disease in which the thyroid gland does not generate enough thyroid hormone.
Ranger is currently a very cute, healthy, and content puppy!
But don’t be concerned! This adorable dog’s caring owners and enthralled internet fans made sure he received the proper care, and he has now recovered completely. Ranger has never allowed any of it bother him, and he is a generally happy and healthy doggo who likes spending time with his canine friends and siblings!
