Maurice Mopreme Shakur, 57, said he does not believe Diddy was being truthful when he denied any involvement in the murder of his stepbrother Tupac Shakur
Tupac Shakur’s stepbrother said he is unsure whether Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ was being truthful when he said he was not involved in the hip-hop icon’s 1996 murder.
In conversation with Piers Morgan Uncensored, Maurice Mopreme Shakur, 57, expressed his doubts about Combs’ claims regarding the rapper’s death. P Diddy made the denial to the Los Angeles Times back in 2008.
Mopreme said: “My opinion is that I don’t believe it was a 100 percent honest statement.” He added: “So, again, we gotta find out what’s true and what’s false. What’s real and what’s fake.”

The infamous drive-by that claimed Tupac’s life in Las Vegas came amid a fierce rivalry with Combs and Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.”
Recounting an encounter years after the shooting, Mopreme shared that during a meeting set up by DJ Big Boy, Combs assured him of his innocence: “[He] basically said he had nothing to do with my brother’s murder,”.
Mopreme replied: “I told him, ‘The truth is still yet to come out, so we’re going to see.’ Here we are, 27, 28 years later, it looks like there’s some doubt in that statement, along with all the other suspicions that people have.”

When asked about whether he believed Combs was being untruthful, Mopreme said: “Quite possibly and it’s kind of looking that way, in my opinion.”
Mopreme said there should be a renewed investigation into the accusations. Combs has always strongly denied any involvement in Tupac’s murder in 1996 and has never faced charges in relation to the death.
P Diddy is currently being held at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as he is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and will go on trial in May 2025.
