Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Wizkid has finally released his much-anticipated fifth studio album, Morayo.
Dropped on streaming platforms early Friday, the album is a tribute to Wizkid’s late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
The 16-track album includes songs like ‘Troubled Mind,’ ‘Karamo,’ ‘Kese (Dance),’ ‘Bad Girl,’ ‘Time,’ ‘Piece of My Heart,’ and ‘Pray.’ Collaborations feature renowned artists such as Asake, Brent Faiyaz, Jazmine Sullivan, Anaïs, and Tiakola.
Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, had previously teased the album with singles like ‘Piece of My Heart’ in October and ‘Kese (Dance)’ in November. Known for his global hits and acclaimed albums like Made in Lagos and More Love, Less Ego, Wizkid continues to cement his legacy in the music industry.
The singer gained international recognition in 2011 with his debut album Superstar and has since won numerous awards, including a Grammy for his collaboration with Beyoncé on ‘Brown Skin Girl.’
Fans can now stream Morayo, a heartfelt project that blends Wizkid’s signature Afrobeats sound with deeply personal themes.
